1. Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord
Thursday, 6th August 2026, is the Feast of the Transfiguration of the Lord. All parishioners are encouraged to participate in the Holy Mass as we celebrate this important feast in the life of the Church.
2. Novena & Retreat in Preparation for the Solemnity of the Assumption
The 9-Day Novena in preparation for this year’s Solemnity of the Assumption will hold from Thursday, 6th August to Friday, 14th August 2026, at 5:00 p.m. daily.
The Assumption Retreat begins on Wednesday, 12th August 2026, at 6:00 p.m.
On Saturday, 15th August 2026, there will be a Rosary Procession at 7:00 a.m., followed by the Crowning of Our Lady.
On Sunday, 16th August 2026, all parishioners are encouraged to attend the Thanksgiving Masses dressed in their COAF Uniform. The First Holy Communion celebration will take place during the 12:00 noon Mass.
SOCIETY ANNOUNCEMENTS
1. Catholic Youth Organization of Nigeria (CYON), Falomo
The August Edition of our Monthly General Meeting holds today, Sunday, 2nd August 2026, immediately after the 12:00 noon Mass.
Venue: Church Foyer
Dress Code: CYON Ankara or White on Black (alternatively).
Please Note: Our 2026 Youth Week begins today with our Thanksgiving Mass at 10:00 a.m.
Young people between the ages of 13 and 35 are encouraged to join CYON. New members are warmly welcome.
2. Justice Development and Peace Commission (JDPC), Falomo
KIDS’ SUMMER CAMP IS HERE!
JDPC and MCA invite children aged 9–16 years to a fun-filled week of learning, creativity and faith.
Date: Monday, 10th August – Sunday, 16th August 2026
Venue: St. George’s Primary School
Registration is ongoing at the JDPC/MCA Desk.
Activities include:
* Creative Arts
* Crafts & Fashion Design
* Modelling & Acting
* Team Sports & Team-Building Games
* Music & Dance
* Cooking Lessons
Competitions will be held at the end of the training, and prizes will be presented after the Thanksgiving Mass on Sunday.
