Sacrament Of Anointing of The Sick: Grace For Healing And Strength
Given to the seriously ill, elderly, or near death, this sacrament imparts spiritual and sometimes physical healing through the anointing with blessed oil and prayers of the priest (CCC 1499).
It grants comfort, forgiveness (if confession is not possible), and courage to endure suffering. The sacrament may be received more than once as needed (James 5:14-15).
